It is known in particular for its production of foie gras. Stop in the small village of Ambatolampy. It is renowned for the manufacture of aluminium pots and kitchen utensils. The trades of forging and foundry are passed down from generation to generation. Lunch along the way. Arrival in Antsirabe in the afternoon, visit the city by rickshaw and its market and then we reach the rural countryside of Betafo.

Then, we resume our walk through the crater lake to the tombs of the Kings and Queens Vakinakaratra. Afterwards, we continue our trail through rice fields and barley fields. After a few hours of walking, we arrive in the village of the blacksmiths. Their know-how has been passed on from father to son. The landscapes are serene and harmonious. The mountainous and wild setting announces the granite and gneiss massif of Andringitra. Picnic lunch along the way. We then continue south along a track that winds between hills and valleys to Ihosy. It was once called "Itompomananananirariny" (the lord who is just) before the Ransom occupation.
